Welcome boaters to the City of St. Clair and the Pine River!
To navigate the Pine River, you will need to pass under the M 29 Bridge over the Pine River.
Most boaters will be able to safely pass under the bridge. If you find that you cannot do so after lowering nonstructural vessel appurtenances that are not essential to navigation (33 CFR § 117.11), contact the bridge operator to have the bridge opened.
Bridge operators monitor marine channel 9 (preferred contact method) or call 810-329-9420.
The bridge tower is staffed from April 1 through November 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and shall open on the hour and one-half hour (33 CFR § 117.643) as needed.
When the bridge is about to open, you will hear one long blast and one short blast from the bridge’s air horn. That horn will sound again when the bridge is about to close.
The bridge may open on demand for passage of law enforcement or commercial vessels.
Please practice safe boating and be courteous to others. Remember; down bound boats have the right-of-way.
